1) High Quality & Custom Design Decor
a) J & M Shaw require all working areas to be clear before work commences.
b) All fixtures/fittings must be removed unless otherwise agreed in the quotation.
c) Walls/ceilings/covings have a minimum of 2 coats applied unless otherwise stated in the quotation.
d) All holes/cracks are filled prior to painting/decorating unless otherwise agreed in the quotation.
e) Appointments may be changed at short notice due to weather conditions for exterior work.
f) All waste produced by J & M Shaw is removed from site once work is complete.
g) Only written price quotations are valid. All other quotations require a full on site evaluation before a valid written quotation can be supplied.
h) J & M Shaw take reasonable measures for the care of furniture and floor coverings. All working areas are protected with large dust/dirt free cotton sheets. Appliances/fixtures/fittings are protected using low-tack masking tape and coverings.
2) Block Paving & Patio Restoration
a) Rotary flat surface cleaning times vary depending on the size of the area to be cleaned. Approx. times can be given upon quotation.
b) All excess dirt and sand is removed from site after the restoration process is complete.
c) All surrounding surfaces are washed off and windows/doors cleaned after the restoration process is complete.
d) All vehicles and/or objects must be removed from the surfaces/areas to be cleaned.
e) Due to the nature of rotary jet cleaning and the pressures involved customers are advised on the dangers of high pressure equipment.
f) Appropriate signage is displayed on site to warn against potential hazards - trailing hoses/obstacles/slippery surfaces etc.
g) Only 90% of stains are removable with pressure cleaning, in some cases the use of chemical solutions may be required, advice can be given upon quotation.
h) Appointments may be changed at short notice due to weather conditions.
i) Sanding of block/cobble paviors can only be completed once surfaces are fully dry.
j) Cleaning dates/times are agreed weather permitting.
k) Only written price quotations are valid. All other quotations require a full on site evaluation before a valid written quotation can be supplied.
l) Pressure cleaning may loosen old or weak mortar joints between slabs - advice is available prior to cleaning.
3) Block Paving & Patio Sealing
a) All vehicles and/or objects must be removed from the area to be sealed.
b) Animals and children must not be present during the sealing process.
c) Surfaces can only be sealed once fully restored by J & M Shaw.
d) Surfaces can only be sealed no sooner than 7 days after being restored to avoid substrate saturation and reactivated efflorescence.
e) Sealed surfaces can accept foot traffic after 30-60 mins and vehicular traffic after 12-24 hrs.
f) Surfaces are fully cured and achieve full chemical resistance within 24-48 hrs.
g) Sealing of the area/surface must be completed the same day.
h) Sealing can only be carried out on well drained and low gradient surfaces.
i) Appointments may be changed at short notice due to weather conditions.
j) Only written price quotations are valid. All other quotations require a full on site evaluation before a valid written quotation can be supplied.
4) Quotations & Payment
a) The total amount for services and/or materials in the quotation/invoice is inclusive of VAT and any other charges/discounts unless specified.
b) All monies owed for services and/or materials must be settled by the due date printed on the invoice.
c) J & M Shaw is entitled to alter/add to the total amount payable if any additional materials/services are added/carried out which were not anticipated at the time of the proposed quotation.
d) J & M Shaw is responsible for the accuracy of any measurements for the supply of products by J & M Shaw. J & M Shaw accepts no responsibility for any expenses incurred as a result of the inaccuracy of any measurements supplied by the customer.
e) The customer may cancel any services and/or products by notifying J & M Shaw within 7 days of the start date in which the individual service(s) are to commence.
Short notice cancellations will be eligible for cancellation charges.
f) Title or ownership of any products purchased by J & M Shaw for any service(s) remains with J & M Shaw until payment is received in full for the service(s) provided.
g) Ownership or responsibility of any materials/products supplied by the customer remains with the customer. J & M Shaw take no responsibility for any expenses incurred as a result of the inaccuracy of any information given regarding materials/products supplied by the customer.
h) Customers may be asked to sign a written declaration to confirm all work has been carried out as to the quotation/invoice details.
i) Standard written quotations are valid for 28 days from the date printed.
j) Terms of payment are non negotiable. Late payments are subject to late payment charges.
k) J & M Shaw accept the following payment methods - cash, cheque, (bacs) bank transfer (commercial only). Cheques are made payable to: J & M Shaw.
l) J & M Shaw do not accept payments forwarded by post unless otherwise instructed.
