Once your paving has been deep cleaned and restored to its original standard, J & M Shaw can seal your block paving with a Gloss or Matt Satin resin based polyurethane sealer.

Unlike less expensive acrylic sealers our resin based sealer bonds the block paving joints as well as sealing the surface of concrete or clay blocks. Cheaper acrylic sealers don't last as long as resin based sealers due to a recommended coverage of 1 litre to 4 square metres (for acrylic sealers), and a coverage rate of 1 litre to 2 square metres (resin sealers) resulting in a resin based sealer being harder wearing and longer lasting.
Once the sealed surface is fully cured, the jointing sand and blocks are permanently bonded together to ensure sand is not washed out of the joints, even when cleaned with a pressure washer. Fully cured, an acrylic sealer will harden to a 'thin plastic' like layer which can become very brittle, resulting in flaking and peeling off of the sealed surface. Our resin sealer sets into a hard wearing flexible clear rubber consistency which improves surface bonding and won't become brittle or peel. Samples of our cured sealer and bonded sand can be viewed upon quotation.
Providing a natural matt satin or wet look gloss finish, sealing is the ultimate in protection for concrete or clay block paving, which not only enhances its appearance but seals it to prevent stains and eliminate weed and grass growth. Sealing is a 2 coat process and will protect and prolong the cleanliness of your block paving.
