Block Paving & Patio Sealing
For the ultimate in protection for newly restored surfaces J & M Shaw recommend sealing block/cobble paving and patios with a professional high solids resin based sealer. Sealing surfaces eliminates weed and grass growth between the joints and reduces moss and dirt build up. Sealing also enhances the colour of the pavier and provides a satin or gloss protection barrier which is water resistant and stops oil stains. Sealed surfaces are able to be cleaned with a pressure cleaner and also eliminates sand loss due to weathering and ants nests.
Professional Resin Sealer
With many sealers on the market it becomes difficult to know which is best. J & M Shaw have tried and tested both brand leaders and budget sealers, the results being you don't always get what you pay for. J & M Shaw source all high solids resin based sealers direct from the manufacturer. Beware of low resin content and 1 coat sealers which when cured may become brittle and flake. Supplied in both gloss and satin finishes sealing is the ultimate in protection which when applied is a low odur and quick drying solution to enhance your original investment.
Application Process
Surfaces can only be sealed no sooner than 7 days after being restored. Block paving joints are re-sanded and the complete surface made free of dust and debris before the sealer is applied. Resin sealer is applied by brush to the perimeter of the surface and by industrial pressure sprayer to the remaining area. This process is repeated for the second coat.
